The third edition of CANNESERIES, the Cannes International Series Festival, will take place on the Croisette from October 9 to 14, 2020, still free of charge and accessible to all. The streets and iconic places of the city, such as the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès and the Espace Miramar, will once again be covered in pink, to everybody's delight.
In order to make this third season accessible to as many people as possible, a new digital platform called CANNESERIES LIVE will be available for free throughout the festival. As an extension of the current website, conceived as a complement to the physical edition, it will allow festival-goers to view the Official Selection series in virtual screening rooms, as well as new content (masterclasses, interviews, etc.) from their sofa.
The Programme will keep the same structure, with both a Long Form Series Competition and a Short Form Series Competition, with 10 series each, as well as Out of Competition series. Yet, this season will be a mix of previously announced and brand new series.
The same goes for the guests, some of whom may come back to walk the pink carpet or make a digital appearance on CANNESERIES LIVE. Already confirmed in digital are Gale Anne Hurd (producer of The Walking Dead and screenwriter of Terminator), who remains President of the Jury and actress Judith Light (Transparent, The Politician), who will receive the Variety Icon Award.
Alongside the festival, the third edition of the CANNESERIES Institute, the series writing residency for young screenwriters, will take place from September 14 to October 15. Its 8 members are already benefiting from a "connected" support, which started on April 22 and will run until September 12, 2020. The first edition of the CANNESERIES WRITERS CLUB, dedicated to professional screenwriters, will take place in Cannes on October 13 and 14.
As to the rest, please be patient... the full October programme will be revealed on September 22 and 23!

How the festival is run will depend on the decisions taken by the health authorities in October. Appropriate measures concerning reception conditions and flow management will be taken accordingly.
